Description
Lavender essential oil (Lavender Hybrida), symbol of virtue and serenity, perfumed Egyptian temples and was used in the preparation of ointments.
Combined with rosemary, sage and thyme, it formed the so-called four thieves vinegar, used as a panacea for all ills.
According to the Ministry of Health, it has a relaxing effect, promoting sleep and alleviating the symptoms of stress. It helps restore normal mood. It has a digestive and carminative function.
In aromatherapy, Lavender is considered a panacea for all ailments, in particular for respiratory system disorders, circulatory problems and muscular pain.
It is used, appropriately diluted in oil through, in massages against rheumatism, sciatica and general muscular pain.
In aromatherapy it is thought to contribute to cellular regeneration, decongesting the skin and mucous membranes; it is suggested to be applied through compresses, in the presence of mycosis, eczema, psoriasis, dandruff.
Excellent for purifying breath and mouth.
Naturopaths recommend it, thanks to its antiseptic and pain-relieving properties, in case of wounds or burns as lavender essential oil is thought to deeply hydrate the skin, relieving burning and preventing the formation of painful blisters, thus promoting rapid healing.
It has been observed that applying to insect bites can immediately relieve itching and swelling.
It helps to rebalance the nervous system, containing excess emotion, promoting sleep, curbing melancholy and freeing us from apathy.
Suggested Uses:
- Room diffuser: choose between 3 and 6 drops in 100 ml. of water
- Fumigations: 3/4 drops of essential oil emulsified in coarse salt in 1 liter of hot water for 20 minutes. Keep eyes and mouth closed
- Bath tub: 8/10 drops of essential oil emulsified in coarse salt or milk or cream or honey to be put in hot water (this helps prevent the oil from volatilizing due to the heat)
- Massages: we recommend diluting 3/4 drops of essential oil in a spoonful of oil via
- Cosmetic use:
– add 2/3 drops of essential oil to a spoonful of natural moisturizing cream
– to prepare a shampoo, a bubble bath or a conditioner we recommend adding 10 drops every 200 ml. - Food use: We recommend 1/2 drops per 100 gr. of food to be flavoured, to be added at the end of cooking (we suggest always starting with the lowest recommended dose and, if necessary, increasing the drops in the future)
