Description

Grapefruit essential oil (Citrus Paradisi) comes from an ancient hybrid, probably between the sweet orange and the pomelo. It was used for a long time only as an ornamental plant. It is the only citrus fruit that is supposed not to come from South-East Asia but from Central America. Its fruit became popular only in the 19th century.

Fruit tree of the Rutaceae family.
Its origin is Sicily.
The essential oil is extracted by cold pressing the peels of the fruit.
The scent is fresh, citrusy, slightly sour.
