The quality and purity of essential oils are crucial to ensuring the effectiveness of aromatherapy treatments.

When choosing an essential oil, it is important to also know the origin and cultivation method of the raw material from which the oil is extracted.

Contrary to what you might think, most pesticides and other products used for growing plants cannot be captured by the steam and therefore pass into the essential oil. This is because during steam distillation only the most volatile molecules that are made up of essential oils are captured, while everything that is "heavy" remains in the plant.

But then why choose an organic essential oil?

Because a plant grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers guarantees us the presence of active ingredients within it of the highest quality and effectiveness. Consequently, even the essential oils obtained from its processing will have an optimal composition that allows their safe use.

The situation is different for the essential oils extracted by pressing the peel of the fruit. In this case everything that is on the peel also passes into the essential oil which is no longer advisable to use especially internally or in the kitchen if it is not from organic cultivation

The use of chemical fertilizers is strongly discouraged for the cultivation of plants intended for production of essential oils as they tend to force the natural cycle of the plant. This can lead to either the absence of some active ingredients or to having others in a dosage higher than that considered optimal for the essential oil.

From the same plant, depending on the soil and place where it is grown, the exposure to climatic agents, the time of harvest and the degree of ripeness, very different essential oils can be distilled and it is therefore very important to be certain of how the plant is grown.

The production of an essential oil begins when you choose the place where to grow the plants or the place where they grow spontaneously and continues until the extraction phase. Every detail is essential to obtain a product of the highest quality.
